‘Take a Bunch of Supermarket Flowers’
Joyce Harrow of Wakefield
Our June workshop was led by Joyce Harrow of Wakefield who demonstrated two ideas for using a bunch of supermarket flowers. Both designs were relatively inexpensive to create using just one bunch of flowers bought from the supermarket, together with a selection of garden foliage. These designs would make an ideal gift.
Our demonstrator for May 2016 was Carys Harrison from York. The title of the demonstration was ‘Have passport, will travel’. Carys produced a beautiful array of floral arrangements representing the countries she had visited on her travels around the world.
On the weekend of Saturday 7 May and Sunday 8 May 2016 St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dinnington held a Flower Festival to celebrate their 100th Anniversary. Four of our members helped with the floral arrangements. We were made to feel very welcome and had an enjoyable time arranging flowers and eating lovely cake!

Our April workshop was led by Ann Simpson of York. Ann demonstrated two triangular designs, the first being a contemporary style using the blocking technique, and the second being a traditional design. Below are just a few of the designs created by our members.
Our demonstrator for March 2016 was Glenda Bream of Sheffield who gave a very interesting and enlightening talk about the life of the famous flower arranger Constance Spry.
Here are a couple of Glenda’s lovely flower arrangements:
