Twigs and Twine
Requirements for two designs. I shall demonstrate both ideas, and you may choose to do one, or both, or even mix and match a little between the designs! Bring whatever you have and we will work with anything – it will make for an interesting mix of designs.
Design 1 – Twigs
A watertight low container which can be round, oval, square or rectangular – plastic, ceramic or glass
A large handful of twigs – whatever you can find – dogwood, contorted hazel, twisted willow, apple branches, or similar
One bunch of roses, or similar flowers of your choice, or a mix of flowers from your garden
A few individual leaves eg ivy, bergenia or similar; and a handful of shrubby foliage like skimmia, choisya, viburnum tinus, pittosporum or similar
Paper covered wire and a ball of jute – can be beige garden twine or preferably coloured jute to co-ordinate with your flowers/container.
Nutscene do a fantastic range of beautiful colours which are available at garden centres or online https://nutscene.com/products/colourful-jute-twine-balls-heritage-coloured-jute-range?variant=40691626767 or from Amazon
Design 2 – Twine
A watertight low container which must be square or rectangular – can be plastic, ceramic or glass – if you only have something small then bring two! The Oasis plastic containers with a lip are good or even something like a lasagne dish (no recipes printed on though please!)
A ball of jute, as above.
The same flowers and foliage as Design 1 but you might need a little more of the foliage if you have a large container.
Please give your flowers and foliage a good drink of water, preferably overnight. Bring along your toolbox/workbag to include flower scissors, secateurs for design 1, and scissors.
Looking forward to meeting you all
